Ready to race again*Start number 17 in tomorrows home snow race at Kvitfjell. Was 5th in training today, so with a little more speed it looks good for a top three. And check out my ski tech's car with the names on the door. Nice!

@SassyCat... Aksel is a *great* name but aside from the wonderful person, in this arena he is also a bit like a brand... hence the car graphics.
That is why he needs a nickname, so he can just be "Aksel" away from skiing.

I envision some large cool graphics covering the car...guess that will be the next one....I'll be happy to be a promoter~ha!

@A: Unfortunately, 5:30 is my usual wake up time during the week, so one more day isn't difficult. Bonus-I actually got to watch the sun rise over the water while drinking my coffee and watching the event. Not a bad way to start the day :)

Love the jackets, thinking I may have to get one-if I could translate the page...guess that's a project for the weekend....

@Angela: Budget cuts at BBC to blame. Been same last few seasons; miss start of season then show the races little before Xmas and the run up to whatever championships (Olympics this year) then thats it. You can still see the races on British Eurosport though

Aksel, I'm sure you will analyse those few meters before the finish line, where the speed had gone. Was the wind turning in wrong way? Of course, in every occasion a speed a little more than 121km/h is awesome - I can hardly imagine how fast it is outside the car;)) But comparing with others, with Cuche for example (he did 128 km/h) and a lot of others from 1 to nr 24 yours was low. I believe only that separated you from the first place.

No matter what - you did it again - a wonderful result, another medal (no matter what colour it is), and I can say only - you are THE BEST!!! Congrats again!;***

Trying to decide if I have it in me to get up at 5:30 am to watch the race, on my computer no less.. I really miss having the skiing coverage on tv; it creates such a major disconnect between the fans and the sport.

I will say that after spending an extensive amount of time reading through the blog entries, I think the foot photos need to start making a comeback on a regular basis...maybe with the warmer weather? And more tacos wouldn't hurt either...

Hey, if you did it on Whistler's "spring snow", you know you got it in you. We have had a lot of crazy weather here in North America. But I am sure Nakiska was cold when you were there. I have friends in Calgary and it gets pretty cold there as you know.
