Ready for Giant Slalom

It was good with an easy day today. Since every event got pushed back it has been a tight race schedule. I was starting to get very tired, but today was an easy day with just a couple of hours skiing. We did freeskiing on the race hill, and that was awful. Dark, bumpy and with different kinds of snow on the way down. Everything from soft to icy, from grippy to death-cookies. Death cookies are hard icy snowballs that the groomers make when they did a bad job on the hill or conditions makes it very hard to groom. They make it impossible to do good turns. But I’m sure it will be better tomorrow, And no matter what the hill looks like, I’m ready tom race again. Olympics have been great so far, and it can only get better!

congrats to hedda as well. they were showing the runs on nbc tonight but in chopped up sections and mixed it in with a little skicross, bobsleigh, and the figure skating. it was weird because it was some live, some on major tape delay...but i rewatched the giant on nbc haha to hear what their commentators were saying during the runs, and they had a good shot of your dad. so right now the norwegian hockey team has tied the czech's 3-3 in pretty good game, but i think the czech's are up on them 4-3 right now. great night all around for team norway and all the other teams. the nordic was crazy to watch. i saw the awesome norway curling pants and i just had to avert my eyes. they are so eye catching! once again my face is frozen in a smile, sleep deprivation is common, and yet i'm still going to manage to watch every single event because i love sports. i think i'm crazy. more tomorrow!

Well, Aksel's chances to win a medal in the slalom are rather slim. SO if I were him, I'd rather skip the slalom and start celebrating all the medals.

The Norwegian curling team just qualified for the semi-finals. Seems as if the pants do help to distract their opponents. XD

And now I'll watch the Canadians crush Germany in ice hockey.

You're my son's hero after he got a chance to stand slopeside seeing you in the downhill. You make me proud to be a Norwegian and it was fun to silence the 20 or so Americans chanting Bode and USA after you nabbed the silver from him chanting Aksel and Norway in return.
