Halloween

Posted on 30. October 2009 23:47 - 44 comments

Red Bull Norway had a Halloween party tonight. You could dress up as anything, so I went with Maverick aka Tom Cruise in Top Gun. Painted an old helmet, got the suit from my neighbor who’s a pilot, a pair of Ray Ban Aviators everyone should have, and I had Kenny Loggins playing his Danger Zone from a speaker in my pocket. Good times and so many cool costumes. I was impressed.

hmm Aksel is spinning and nothing is happening here and I had a meeting with a crazy person and by crazy I mean: crazy and my usually unaffected mind needs a distraction now. LOL

I look at the guy form the first pic, in the middle, the bunny guy. He is hilarious. I want to have t his picture in my office and look at it in difficult moments to cheer me up.

Have a nice day :)

@ Jules: Organising something for Garmisch sounds like a fun idea:)

What I forgot to mention in my previous posts: Aksel, thanks for posting so often, it's like we're all able to follow you through the whole year:) Ah, and when you were asked in Sölden during the draw of the starting numbers what you think is better in Formula 1 than skiing I was half expexting you to respond "the boxenluder"...;)

01. Nov 14:10 - Jules said:
@ Pipi - thanks, I think you just cured me, just tell me where to send the bill to ;-) However, I think that maybe it's the hangover talking, am I right? Or where did you get that theories from...

@ Stefka & Tony - maybe we should organize something for Garmisch, this would probably be a lot of fun...!

@Jules First of all I'd admit, men in uniforms promise a kind of power, magnitude, loofness and coolness etc. Everybody wants to BE or With such a guy... Just an imagination, worse promise. It's all smoke and mirrows! But in the end they are weak, unconfident and searching for an identity... They simply act under order, are proud of external, material things like titles, decorations and promotions, and the best: they hide or protect their self (-image - which have mostly not a proud, secure and confident status) behind an uniform (or sunglasses - Oh, how much I love these cool guys in gangs...;)) and find their identification in uniformation not in self realization - brilliant types! Most of these guys never improve themselves further and won't or don't want to be aware of WHO they are. They never believe in their inner power or become a self-assured individual human being. Would say: it's a special male behaviour (tho' not only). Some stupid girls adopt that or melt away like ice in the sun.... Oh, I remember the chicks, who dressed up like barbies - they aren't bad at all! haha ;)

@ Aksel Have you reflected, which status is yours as "Maverick" aka Pete Mitchell aka Tom Cruise? Status 1: The focused guy, the "hero in the air", who knows, that he is the BEST pilot with a lot of bravery; status 2: the guy, who feels Guilty of his friends ("Goose") death [maybe other special things/losts] and loses his selfassurance or status 3: the one, who regains his (self-)security and returns as the best pilot ever... is there another one I left out? I love that film, because it's a dramatic theme like.... even life can be! "Only the Strong Survive"

I am so disappointed... I had prepared a lot of sweets yesterday, but nobody knocked on my door for this trick-or-treat-thing! @ I-ski-like-a-girl, I expected at least you, hehe :) Hopefully, you got enough sweets to chrismas from you neighbours.

@ Aksel on twitter: Are you going to join @ Angie`s spinning class and rock to "Beat It"? Have nice spinning - your leg will love :)

@ Stefka and Jules: See you in Garmisch!

I'm glad you like the photos:) I bought a new camaera after WC in Garmisch in Jan this year and I'm really happy about how my pics from Sölden turned out. But it wasn't that difficult to take good pics there as a) I was standing first row during the 1st round of the men Giant Slalom and b) the weather (and therefore also the light) was so perfect.
I added my six last pics (none of Aksel, unfortunately...):

@ Jules: yes, me and friends are still joking about how we survived waiting 6+ hours for the ladies Super G/men downhill in Garmisch in the icy cold - and then, everything was cancelled...

01. Nov 00:07 - A. said:
hey Stef, thanks for the link to your pics! You must have had a great time anyway ( visiting the skijumping hill!);-)
And definitely kudos to the designer of new Norwegians' skiing outfits. They look even better in the pics than on TV;-) I just had to say that. LOL

What is it with men in uniforms - can anyone explain that effect to me? Well, I always fall for it - sad but true... ;-)

@Stefka - I know what you mean, I was in Garmisch last year as well and I almost turned into an ice sculpture while waiting for the SG that finally never took place... but Garmisch is always fun,I always had the best time there . See you there next year at the season's finals and you know what that means - loads of partying!

After lurking here for quite some time (like right from the start...), I thought I could add some pics from Sölden after Aksel's picture-less "In Oslo" entry and what happens? He posts three photos in a row...
Well, I'm posting the link to my Sölden pics, anyway:
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=36574&id=1080142722&l=cc2ec33790
Sölden was quite the experience, I must say. But I also have to admit me being at a skiing World Cup doesn't really bring best of luck to Aksel... So far, I have been to Sölden a week ago and WC in Garmisch this past January (where Aksel went out in slalom and the Super G was cancelled). Yet, I plan to be at the WC finale in Garmisch, next March...:p

There is something about men in uniforms- even if it is the one of a pilot or the uniform of an alpine skier ;-)

31. Oct 09:56 - michelle said:
wow.... immer total sexy & heiss ;)

31. Oct 09:55 - Katie said:
Great costumes! That uniform definitely suits you ... should consider becoming a pilot after your skiing career! ;-)

I LOVE Ray Bans (especially the Aviator)!!! One of the coolest glasses ever. I have 2 pairs myself ... was standing in the store and could not decide, so I just bought both! :-) Obviously I was in shopping mood. But these glasses are just an absolute classic!

What exactly are the guys supposed to be? Rabbit of Winnie Pooh and a zombie with a red silk scarf? LOL
And the more important question: where is their Red Bull? ;-)

@ Bounty: Nice proposal, hehe

31. Oct 08:48 - Bounty said:
Looking even better than Tom Cruise himself in that uniform! ..... and with Danger Zone right out of you pocket every woman would melt even on the 30. of Oktober in Norway.........
Just an Idea: Maybe next time (Red Bull Sommerparty?) you could play Maverick in the Handtowel-around- his- hips-scene?

funny, funny, I like the part with the song playing from the pocket the most;-) did you sing?

I have to ask (blame late hour, the beers I drunk on an earlier meeting and my insomnia) -any chance you considered dressing as a vitamin gummy bear? ;-)

anyway -cool costume. The glasses really do rock, I have to admit.
