Last world-cup race before the Olympics is done for me. Straddled in the slalom after some ok skiing. But you need to come to the finish line if you wanna be good. Driving up to Munich and flying to Canada and the Olympic games tomorrow. Excited!!! We’ll do some training in the Nakiska first. So first we fly to Calgary and then we head out to Vancouver. I kinda feeling the Olympic spirit right now, but landing in Vancouver and the drive up to Whistler is gonna be sweet. I’m a little worried that I can’t do much with the website during the Olympics. Heard about a bunch of rules today regarding what you can do and can’t do and it seemed like athletes couldn’t do much. It’s kinda nice that Olympics are without advertisement, but I think denying athletes of keeping their websites updated is taking it one step too far. Will get back to you on the exact rules around that.
Sometimes you know exactly what you need to do, but it's just not happening. Today was one of those days. But I know how I can be a lot faster, so I will take that with me into training these days before the olympic games begins. Flying to Calgary monday to go training in the old '88 olympic slopes in Nakiska. And now with me winning a run and Kjetil rocking the podium twice we know that the speed is there and if we ski good in training that is also good enough in races. But first there is the slalom tomorrow. Watch out for start number 31
I was leading after the first run, but after a bad start on the second one I didn’t have the skills or the guts to bring it home. Ted won his third straight race in Kranskja Gora and very happy about Kjetil in third place. I finished 4th, disappointing after leading, but the giant slalom form seems to be coming back. Hadn’t really practiced GS for long time when I trained this Monday to Wednesday, so happy to see the speed coming back in those tight turns after two weeks on downhill skis. New race and new chances tomorrow.

The Kitzbühel week is over and we’re gonna get some training before the races in next weekend. I’m not skiing Schladming. I thinks its more important to get some giant slalom training now. The slalom today was actually not to bad before I went out, but that doesn’t help much. Would have been good for the combined, so that sucks. But this sweet photo we took at the start of the downhill in Wengen is awesome enough to take your mind off that. And very happy for Felix today. Winning his first World-Cup race! And good timing doing so in Kitzbühel…
